Batsto State Park-

1.  Saturday #/#/17, #:30AM, Batsto State Park run, meet at Batsto State Park Visitor Center, POC- Marlo A.

Let’s plan on meeting in the Batsto Visitor Center parking lot at 9 am on Saturday.  They have nice heated bathrooms at the start for this trail run.

For those of you that haven’t run here before, the main trail, known as the Batona Trail, traverses through a beautiful section of the Pine Barrens.  The trails are marked in colors (white, blue, & pink), which are spray-painted on the trees at key points.  For the not so serious runners, they have a 2 mile loop (white) and a 4 mile loop (blue).  For the more serious runner, we have the ole "Out & Back" option on the winding main trail (pink).  What we have done in the past is run "out" for about 45 minutes to an hour, turn around and head "back".  But you can turn around at any point to get your proper distance.  The trail is marked and we leave no runner behind.

A link to the starting location, the Batsto Visitor’s Center, is as follows:

Wells Mills County Park-
1. Sunday #/#/17, #:30AM, Wells Mills County Park trail run, meet in parking lot, POC- Marlo A.
Come on out to Wells Mills County Park for some nice trail running in the Forked River Mountains (just small hills really)! We'll meet at parking lot, the nature center is heated and has bathrooms and a water fountain. We'll run a 8-10 mile trail loop from there (White + Green trails if you have been to the park before). Carry some water as it will be a slower run on these trails. Expect well marked and good clear single track and some double track trails similar to the mountain bike trails in the back of Estell Manor Park, except there are some gentle hills, a few thin boardwalk crossings, and maybe a tiny bit of mud if any rain in the previous days. The terrain is not technical (road shoes are fine)- just twisty trail, mild hill fun (Laurel Hill and Penns Hill top out at 130', so no more than our usual bridges)! I will stop the group at all major intersections to make sure we all are together and going the right way. Those that don't like to wait, please just get your time in by turning around and bringing slower folk up to the intersection meeting, it's not cool to leave those who don't know the way to get lost (remember, we're not on the boardwalk).
If you haven't been to Wells Mills before it's an easy drive up the Garden State Parkway to exit 69 and then just 2.5miles West (left) to the park. The following is a link to the park, directions, and it's trail system:
