NJShoreRun Weekly Group Runs and Local Race Meetup
This Week's Group Run Meetup (5/9&10) and
SAVE THE DATE- Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup on the weekend of May 16/17th!
Cleanup details below:
1. Saturday 5/9/26, 8:00AM, Ocean City Boardwalk run, meet at Music Pier, POC- Lou B.
The plan is running the scenic Ocean City Boardwalk. There is plenty of free parking this time of year at the end of 9th Street or Moorlyn Terrace (both on the right and left hand side of the road or free lots may be available). After you park, just take the short walk up on the boards to the Music Pier, where we will gather for the start. Note: The Music Pier has nice clean heated bathrooms.
2. Sunday 5/10/26, 8:00AM, Linwood Bike Path, meet at hockey rink parking near Mainland High School on Wabash Ave at the end of W Essex Ave, POC- Sandra.
The Linwood Bike Path is a paved, traffic free running path with a few cross streets. Some like to add the OC 9th St bridges on the south end. You can run more or less as you see fit. There is a parking lot and a port-o-pot in close proximity.
Directions to The Linwood Bike Path (start location/parking): The starting location is close to Mainland High School (off Route 9) on Wabash Ave at the end of W Essex Ave next to the street hockey rink.
NOTE- All Are Welcome! We routinely have folks who start with the group and then turn around at their desired distance for a shorter run. And usually more than one pace group as well. So, run as many miles as you like with us!
Race meetups:
None this week.
Adopt-A-Highway Background:
NJShoreRun has adopted the eastbound side of Longport Boulevard (State Route 152). Our adopted road officially starts in Somers Point on Bay Avenue (Caroline’s Restaurant-Mile Post 0.0) and continues up and over the Dolores G. Cooper Bridge and ends at the first traffic light, which intersects Ocean Drive (Mile Post 2.2). We will be responsible for cleaning the eastbound side only (from Somers Point toward Longport).
"Our section of highway is officially known as Rt 152, or as locals call it, Somers Point-Longport Boulevard. It stretches from Caroline's on the corner of Bay Avenue, then along the causeway and just past the Dolores G. Cooper Bridge. A distance of approximately 2.2 miles. We only clean the Eastbound side of the Highway. After finishing our long run, we will gather at the parking lot located at the base of the Dolores G. Copper Bridge. I will have an ample supply of brightly colored vests, work gloves, trash bags, and of course, the best pickup grabbers that our lovely state has ever designed. All you need to bring is yourself and some water. If you haven't done so, please watch the training video, which you need to complete before you participate: This is a "feel good" event and something that will help beautify our running course and be good for the environment.
Thank you and look forward to your participation!"
