NJShoreRun Weekly Group Runs and Local Race Meetup
This Week's Group Run (4/27):
1. Sunday 4/27/25, 8:00AM, Linwood Bike Path + OC Bridge run, meet at hockey rink parking near Mainland High School on Wabash Ave at the end of W Essex Ave, POC- Harry B.
The Linwood Bike Path is a paved, traffic free running path with a few cross streets that we will run south to include the OC 9th St bridge. Looking to run around 10-12 miles. You can run more or less as you see fit. There is a parking lot and a port-o-pot in close proximity.
Directions to The Linwood Bike Path (start location): The starting location is close to Mainland High School (off Route 9) on Wabash Ave at the end of W Essex Ave next to the street hockey rink.
NOTE- The distances of the group runs are the max length for that run. We routinely have folks who start with the group and then turn around at their desired distance or continue further. Usually more than one pace group. All Are Welcome!
Race Meetups:
None this week.
Looking Ahead- Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup (5/17):
Our Adopt-A-Highway cleanup is going to be Saturday 5/17/25, @ ?AM (rain date Sun 5/18), meeting at the base of the big Dolores G. Cooper Bridge, 29 Somers Point Longport Blvd, Somers Point, NJ 08244 (39.3140543, -74.5660490).
There is a place to park next to the bridge on the Somers Point/Eastbound side of the bridge.
For safety reasons, we will distribute brightly colored vests and work gloves. We will also set up a road sign to notify motorists of our cleanup activity along this stretch. We will have plenty of trash and recycle bags as well as the much sought after "trash grabbers" to make our cleanup task easier.
Adopt-A-Highway Background:
NJShoreRun has adopted the eastbound side of Longport Boulevard (State Route 152). Our adopted road officially starts in Somers Point on Bay Avenue (Caroline’s Restaurant-Mile Post 0.0) and continues up and over the Dolores G. Cooper Bridge and ends at the first traffic light, which intersects Ocean Drive (Mile Post 2.2). We will be responsible for cleaning the eastbound side only (from Somers Point toward Longport).
If you haven't already done so in the past, in order to participate, you must watch a mandatory safety video:
