This weekend's group run (4/10/21)

Group training run:
1. Saturday 4/10/21, 9:00AM, Ocean City Bridges run followed by Adopt-A-Highway cleanup, Meet at base of OC Garden's Bridge Fishing Pier, POC- Marlo K & Harry B.

We will meet in the parking lot of the Garden's Bridge Fishing Pier. This is the bridge going into the North end of Ocean City. Looking to do 12-13 miles. The basic bridge loop is 10 miles but the course can be modified to get 2 more miles by including the entire OC boardwalk.

Below is a map of this scenic and challenging course, which shows the start location of the Fishing Pier. There are two portable bathrooms at the parking lot plus we usually stop and regroup at the Ocean Music Pier, which is exactly 3 miles into the run, to determine pace and final distance.

NOTE- The distances of the group runs are the max length for that run- we routinely have folks who start with the group and then turn around at their desired distance or continue further. Usually more than one pace group. All Are Welcome!

Adopt-A-Highway Clean Up (4/10/21):

Our Adopt-A-Highway cleanup is going to be Saturday 4/10/21, 10:30AM, meeting at the base of the big Dolores G. Cooper Bridge, 29 Somers Point Longport Blvd, Somers Point, NJ 08244 (39.3140543, -74.5660490). There is a place to park next to the bridge on the Somers Point/Eastbound side of the bridge. Again, Thank you Harry B for organizing this! NJShoreRun has adopted the eastbound side of Longport Boulevard (State Route 152). Our adopted road officially starts in Somers Point on Bay Avenue (Caroline’s Restaurant-Mile Post 0.0) and continues up and over the Dolores G. Cooper Bridge and ends at the first traffic light, which intersects Ocean Drive (Mile Post 2.2). We will be responsible for cleaning the eastbound side only (from Somers Point toward Longport).

This will be directly following the 9:00A bridge loop run or meet up just for the cleanup!
